Heirloom Portraits for Families
Art That Becomes Part of Your Family Story
Father and Daughter
80cm x 50cm
Oil on Stretched Canvas
A painted portrait is more than a likeness—it’s a way of honouring the people who matter most. In a world of fleeting images, a hand-painted portrait slows everything down. It becomes a family heirloom—something to be lived with, cherished, and passed down for generations.
Why Commission a Family Portrait?
Capture presence and personality. My portraits aren’t just about faces—they’re about the quiet moments, the bonds, and the stories that make your family unique.
Mark milestones and memories. Celebrate a new arrival, a special anniversary, or simply the everyday love that deserves to be remembered.
Create an emotional legacy. A portrait becomes part of your home’s story, growing more meaningful as the years pass.

The Journey: Creating Your Family Heirloom Portrait
Commissioning a family portrait is more than just a transaction—it's a deeply personal experience that honours your loved ones and preserves your legacy. My process is designed to make you feel informed, involved, and valued every step of the way.
It takes on average 2 - 3 weeks to complete a family portrait
It can take longer depending on size and complexity, and I can confirm timings with you during our initial discussion.
Step-by-Step Clarity
Warm Introduction: We begin with a relaxed conversation, getting to know your family’s story, relationships, and the moments you want to celebrate or remember.
On-Location Photography: I visit your home or a place that’s meaningful to your family, capturing natural reference images that reflect your unique personalities and bonds.
Regular Progress Updates: Throughout the painting process, I share milestone updates—photos, behind-the-scenes glimpses, and progress shots—so you’re part of the creative journey from start to finish.
Your Voice Matters: At key stages, I invite your feedback to ensure the portrait feels true to your family’s spirit and story.
Heirloom Reveal & Aftercare: When your portrait is ready, I’ll guide you through framing and care options, so your new heirloom is beautifully displayed and preserved for generations.
Building Connection & Legacy
By sharing the story behind your family, involving you in the creative process, and capturing genuine moments, I aim to create a portrait that’s not just seen, but felt. This journey is about celebrating your family’s legacy—and creating an artwork that will be treasured for years to come.

Why a painted portrait
Why Choose a Painted Portrait Instead of Just a Photograph?
In a world full of quick snapshots, a painted portrait slows everything down. It’s intentional. Considered. A way of saying, “This person matters.” Whether it’s a parent, a partner, a child, or a leader in your organisation, a portrait becomes part of your story — something that will still be meaningful decades from now.
Painterly realism: recognisable likeness with warmth and atmosphere
Crafted to last: archival materials and considered composition
Deeply personal: created in collaboration with you
