Commission a Portrait By Michael Worthington
A Portrait Experience, Not Just a Painting
From the very first enquiry to the final unveiling, I believe the journey should feel as special as the finished portrait itself. My process is designed to be clear, collaborative, and genuinely enjoyable—so you always know what to expect and feel supported every step of the way.
It takes on average 2 - 4 weeks to complete a portrait
It can take longer depending on size and complexity, and I can confirm timings with you during our initial discussion.
What You Can Expect
Personal Connection: We start with a relaxed conversation to get to know each other, understand your story, and clarify your vision for the portrait.
Studio-Quality Photography: I visit you in your chosen environment, capturing natural, expressive reference images that reflect your true personality.
Collaborative Updates: Throughout the painting process, I share regular progress updates—photos, behind-the-scenes glimpses, and milestone check-ins—so you’re part of the creative journey.
Your Input Matters: At key stages, you’ll have the opportunity to provide feedback, ensuring the portrait feels just right before completion.
A Lasting Legacy: When your painting is ready, I’ll guide you through framing and placement options, and offer aftercare advice to help your new heirloom last for generations.
More Than a Commission—It’s a Story
Every portrait I create is the result of genuine connection and shared vision. My goal is not just to capture a likeness, but to create an artwork that holds meaning, evokes emotion, and becomes a cherished part of your family’s or organisation’s story..
Commissioning a portrait doesn’t need to feel intimidating. I guide you through each step so you feel clear, supported, and excited about the artwork we’re creating together.
